The advice, experiences, and stories we share on Adulthood Pending Podcast strive to normalize the notion that adulting isn’t that easy.

Our Values

Think like a feminist

Intertwine our values of social, political, legal, and economic rights for everyone into our conversations, regardless of gender identity

Cultivate growth

Support each other and our peers going through adulthood by sharing stories, advice, and providing a platform for our guests’ wisdom

Share with vulnerability

Speak openly and honestly, and be vulnerable about our experiences

Recognize our privilege

Understand that our perspective is just one of many that is drastically shaped through our class, ethnic, racial, sexuality, gender, as well as many other experiences and factors

Annalise Ko

Annalise was born in Massachusetts but moved to Shanghai with her family when she was just a few months old. After 18 years in Shanghai, Annalise moved to Southern California where she studied Computer Science at Scripps College. She graduated in May 2019 and moved back to Boston where she began work as a software engineer at a tech company.

Outside of work, Annalise really enjoys baking, cooking both Eastern and Western dishes, as well as working out at home. Some of her favorite things to bake are scones and muffins, but she’s always looking for fun and easy recipes -- so if you know any, send them her way!

Annalise is excited to talk about how she is navigating post-grad life in a new city with the hope that her personal experiences and stories will help encourage and support others who are also figuring out adulthood. She also wants to give advice and share some lessons she’s learned to help encourage and support those who also feel like they are struggling with or uncertain of their futures.

Brittanee Okamura

Brittanee was born and raised in Southern California. She majored in English with a pre-med track and is currently working as a medical scribe and applying to medical school.

Some of Brittanee’s hobbies include reading, journaling, and spending time with her friends and family. Friends of Brittanee may describe her as “the best thing that has happened to them” or “their beacon of hope”. Brittanee is passionate about taking care of her mental health and has become a huge advocate for therapy and meditation over the past year.

Brittanee is excited to share her personal experiences since graduating and debunk the myth that everyone has everything figured out once they graduate. As someone who has a delay in her career by choosing to apply to grad school, she still hopes to make the best of her time during her gap year and hopes to help support others along the way!

Kimi Kaneshina

Kimi grew up in sunny Southern California, and currently lives there with her family. She graduated from Scripps College in May 2020 with a BA in Organizational Studies, Economics. She’s enjoyed using her background in analyzing both qualitative and empirical data, with a splash of creativity, in her current role as a Marketing Associate at a tech start-up.

Her favorite pandemic hobbies include gardening, cooking unfamiliar (to her) Asian dishes, and playing catan with her family using the helper cards for an extra challenge! When the pandemic wasn’t a thing, Kimi enjoyed exploring new places and being outdoors. She wants to visit all the US National Parks when she has the chance!

Kimi hopes that this podcast will help other new grads and soon-to-be new grads comfortable about these uncertain times. She’s heard that the first five years out of college are filled with lots of change, whether that be good or bad, so she wishes that this podcast can help others feel like they aren’t going through the process alone. <3
