Episode 23: Exploring Asian American Studies & Uncertain Paths with Emiko Okamura

Last season we brought on Annalise’s sister to discuss her journey through dental school and how her family influenced her decision to follow that career path. In this episode, we bring on Brittanee’s sister, Emiko, to talk about getting her masters in Asian American studies at UCLA, what led to that decision and how it differed from her original intentions for applying to grad school. Emiko graduated from Scripps College in 2020 and explored different paths before deciding on majoring in English with a focus in creative writing. Tune in to hear Emiko share what it was like exploring and navigating uncertain routes both in college and post-grad, as well as what it’s like being Brittanee’s sister and why Emiko intentionally avoided taking any classes with her in college.
